Something Funny

Something really funny happened during the weekend. ROTFL.

My parents were away during the weekends, and they have been harrassing us and kept reminding us to go to a relative kenduri on Sunday. There were 2 kenduris - the one next door for cukur jambul and the other, a wedding in Ampang. We all went to the cukur jambul and all was fine. So then we have to go to Ampang . After saying goodbyes to Aya and Dang, we pushed off to Ampang.

When we reached the house, there was no khemah. Like no kenduri at all. Are we at the right house? or are they having the kenduri in a dewan? My bro Upiq drove round the block for around 3 times. We called our oldest bro, Lala and told him that there was no khemah. He was still on the way. We were the first to arrive. Lala then contacted Papa. Papa and Mama was on the way from Ipoh, with intention of stopping by Ampang for the wedding.

While waiting for info from Lala, we stopped for awhile by the roadside beside my aunt house. Then suddenly, hahahah (i cant write this without laughing!), we saw the tuan rumah, Pak Ali... was riding his motorcyle with his cucu, in normal clothes, probably going to the kedai. Upiq pointed and said "hey, tu bukan pak ali ke". We were laughing like mad in the car... i laughed until my stomach hurt. OMG! We came on the wrong day! The wedding was the day before. hahahah luckily it was not our fault, since my parents kept reminding us it was sunday. But we should have looked at the wedding card. Well, i dont even know where the card is. lol.

So we went into our aunt, Mak's house and told her about what happened. We were all decked in kenduri clothes. over ok! Malu siot. Mak was laughing so hard and then she said, come i bring you to Mak Nya's house. Mak Nya is Mak's best friend, so somehow she is considered as our relative and we are not that close with her. well, biasala kan, org muda. So cam segan la. Then Mak brought us to her house, which is just 2 houses away from Mak's. So we told la Mak Nya and Pak Ali what happened. Buat jela muka tebal. wuakakakakaak.

This was the first time that something like this happened to me. LOL. I can never forget about it. Luckily I didnt wear my "dry cleaning only" baju kurung, or it would be a waste. LOL.

Big Girls Don't Cry

Had pretty rough week. Weeks actually. I am glad I have people in my life that cares about me. Friends that cares so much, willing to sacrifice their time and energy just to make me smile. Love you guys, you know who you are.

Da Da Da Da
The smell of your skin lingers on me now
You're probably on your flight back to your home town
I need some shelter of my own protection baby
To be with myself and center, clarity
Peace, Serenity

I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It's personal, myself and I
We've got some straightenin' out to do
And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life
It's time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry

The path that I'm walking
I must go alone
I must take the baby steps 'til I'm full grown, full grown
Fairytales don't always have a happy ending, do they?
And I foresee the dark ahead if I stay

Like the little school mate in the school yard
We'll play jacks and uno cards
I'll be your best friend and you'll be my Valentine
Yes you can hold my hand if you want to
'Cause I want to hold yours too
We'll be playmates and lovers and share our secret worlds
But it's time for me to go home
It's getting late, dark outside
I need to be with myself and center, clarity
Peace, Serenity

IsiRimba Weekend Bash

uI had a really AWESOME weekend! Muahahaah I don’t really wanna brag, really but I can’t help it, IT WAS SUPER FUN!

It was my first time organizing (with Pipiq & Kak Tine's help)something “outdoorsy” for the family and this “family day-birthday party” event turned out great! We held it at a place called Isirimba, located in Kemensah, KL just few kilometers from Zoo Negara. If you want a hassle free birthday party/family gathering with good food and lotsa fun, this is the place to be. Check out http://www.isirimba.net for more info. They do it all for you, including decorations (banners and balloons)… all you have to do is pay. And the price is very reasonable. They also have activities like paintball and fishing, if those are your thang.

My bro Upiq was the one who suggested the place. He went there for a family day gathering with his friends about 2-3 weeks earlier and he can’t stop but gushed about the place. Attracted by the orderly and proper place in the forest and crystal clear water, I was very keen to check out the place. After few initial discussions with me mom and bro, we decided to gather our family members for a birthday party for my lil bro, Feroz and our lil cousin, Azeem there. The birthday party was really just an excuse to try the place. All members of the Khans were there, my cousins - Eja & Wawa, my aunt Chu, Uncle and Azeem, Jemi, his parents & his cousin, my extended family, my girlsssss - D, Aya and Laila and Yong's lil sisters - Amy n Dhirah, and the maids Su and Tin.

Anyway, the place was awesome!! And we don’t really have to do anything… we just brought some tidbits, birthday cakes, change of clothes. We were given 2 places to lepak, like small pondoks. My aunt brought some food, so some of us dig in before we jump into the water. The kids (and adults! Hah!) had a really good time in the water and were reluctant to go out of the water when it was time to cut the birthday cake. After cutting the cakes, we brought out the piñata kak tine made.. and the kids really had fun banging on the poor old box. The kids (and I know, the adults too) were delighted seeing candies, jellies, chocolates came out of the box. Lunch then came, so helped ourselves to fried meehon, Chinese fried rice, grilled fish, coleslaw, BBQ sausages and chicken parts, and the star of the day, the whole roast lamb. After lunch, everybody “berendam” again while me & kak tine prepare for the games. We also gave water guns for the kids to play in the water.

The games were kraazzee!! Lol. Initially we planned for the kids and maybe throw in a couple of the games for the adults but we ended up playing together with the kids. There were only about 4 “able kids” since most of them are below 7 so we have to mix the teams. It was hilarious!!! There was this open area at the place and we set up the games. We played “cari gula2 dalam tepung” (most of us gagged lol, it was nasty!), “isi air dalam botol”, “bawa bola dalam sudu”race, three legged race, pasangan belangkas race (we came up with the name - where 2 people standing with their backs against each other and then raced), jump on one leg and then walked like a duck race (LOL), “pecahkan belon”. Did I leave anything out? I don’t even remember who won the races lol but everybody was given gifts which comprises of cereal, soap, tissue paper and cute keychains. It was really memorable time because this is the first time that we ever participated in such games with our own family members.

It was so hot after the games and since nothing left for the organizer to do, I had my chance to berendam in the water. The water was soooo cold and crystal clear. There were small fishes swimming around us. The best thing about the place was that it was private and exclusively for us. Some people might say, why would we pay to enjoy nature? But for me, we have to pay to enjoy the luxury of having the place for our own and proper facilities and fuss free. The water is very clean and we don’t have to fight for our space by the riverside. I love floating in the cold water and splashing about.

We packed our things, paid our bill and moved from the place at about nearly 5 and just second after we moved from the place, the rain started pouring down. Lucky us! I am very satisfied right now because I think everyone enjoyed themselves (well I hope so lol).

Thank you everybody for making the day a memorable one. Hope we can do this again, SOON!
